Keeping them in-line (Highlands Ranch Herald)
Inline hockey is growing in Highlands Ranch. Since the addition of Rock Canyon’s program, an inline hockey team from each Highlands Ranch high school in the Douglas County School District has been present in league competitions. Most recently, all four schools were represented in pre-season tournament action Dec. 20 at the Parker Fieldhouse in Parker.

Students helping students at The Woodlands Preparatory School (The Potpourri)
Tana Ross This week at The Woodlands Preparatory School upper classmen helped lower level students -- an integrated teaching tool encouraged at the school -- with a robotics exercise. For years The Woodlands Preparatory has won robotics competitions across the state and by teaching the youngest students in the K-12 building, one would hope that the tradition will continue.

Quality over quantity for Pioneer wrestling (Pikes Peak Courier View)
Marvin Olberding Cripple Creek/Victor wrestling head coach Mike Akana has never had an abundance of kids in the program during his time with the Pioneers. This year is no different. Only four names appear on the CC/V roster, and just two of the four were available for the team’s most recent competitions, Dec. 18 at Custer County and Dec. 20 at John Mall.

Valley Quilters Guild busy with competitions, upcoming show (The Press-Enterprise)
As part of the Valley Quilters Guild annual holiday luncheon, members submitted quilted creations for a challenge competition. Brown hues were the theme of entries in categories such as mini quilts, wearable art and wall hangings that were judged by Gloria McKeehan, of Redlands.
