Organizations fear drop in contributions during months following holiday season (The Daily Toreador)
For some, the 2008 holiday season was a time for fear, not cheer. Several charity organizations, both nationally and locally, expressed concerns about donation shortages caused by financial stress. The Salvation Army set a nationwide goal to raise $1.3 million dollars and fell short of about $470,000, according to its Web site.
