LAU Jbeil hosts Extreme Sports Day to open year (The Daily Star Lebannon)
To mark the start of the 2008-2009 academic year and as part of activities to welcome new students, the Extreme Club at the Lebanese American University's Jbeil campus held an Extreme Sports Day on Monday. The activities included rappelling, in which participants slid 25 meters down a rope suspended from crane.

Tony's new show just doesn't rock (Miami Herald)
Launched in 2006 as an all-telenovela network, low ratings have reduced MyNetworkTV to a wasteland of beat-them-bloody extreme sports and tawdry reality shows. So give credit to The Tony Rock Project, the comic revue that debuts Wednesday -- at least it's aimed at viewers whose age and IQ total more than the price of a gallon of gas.

Isle of Wight: Kiteboarding Park Jam (Isle of Wight County Press)
THE UK’s first-ever Kiteboarding Park Jam at Bembridge failed to get off the ground because of a lack of wind. Conditions were good throughout the week leading up to the weekend of fun competition, but the summer-like weather which bathed the Island did not suit the extreme sports fans.
