Five Scarlet Knights to play in postseason all-star games (The Times of Trenton)
Five seniors from the 2008 Rutgers football team will participate in postseason all-star games. Senior FS Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) will play in the 84th East-West Shrine Game Saturday, January 17 at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Another lineman joins Georgia fold (Athens Banner-Herald)

The Buford High School offensive lineman won his second straight Class AA state title and took his official visit to Georgia, played in not one but two all-star games before moving onto campus Tuesday as an early enrollee with classes starting on Thursday.

I'm not ready to give up on the NHL's All-Star Game. The starters were a bit of a joke, but really, who cares who starts a hockey game? The game itself, January 25 in Montreal, has turned more into a way for the league to schmooze corporate sponsors than high-end entertainment, but that's part of running a league.
