An article last Sunday about threats to the world?s fisheries referred incorrectly to the amount of nutrients and fecal matter released by a salmon farm with 200,000 fish. It is roughly equivalent to the amount that would be produced by 60,000 people, not 600,000 people.

Fluorescence Used To Develop Method For Detecting Mercury In Fish (Science Daily)
Researchers have developed a simple and quick method for detecting mercury in fish and dental samples, two substances at the center of public concern about mercury contamination. The technique involves a fluorescent substance that glows bright green when it comes into contact with oxidized mercury.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The price of fresh fish in the state has increased as many fishermen had not gone out due to rough seas in the past few days. South Kuala Terengganu Fishermen Association chairman Hasan Ismail said the price of fish had increased between RM3 and RM4 per kilogramme.
