Qatar Will Fund $3.5 Billion Port in Lamu, Kenya (Update1) (Bloomberg)
Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Qatar will fund the construction of a $3.5 billion port at the town of Lamu in Kenya, the African country's presidency said. Kenya and Qatar agreed on the project after talks were held between Kenya's President Mwai Kibaki and the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani , the Kenyan president's office said in an e-mailed statement today.
