Moorpark soldier trains for Iraq in the Mojave Desert (Moorpark Acorn)
A soldier with ties to Moorpark will soon serve in Iraq. But to see him, one would think he is already there. He patrols Arab villages in the desert where locals living there wear long, loose-fitting Arab clothing and scarf-like head covers. He stands among Iraqi natives as Arabic calls to prayer can be heard over loud speakers.

Game review: Silverfall: Earth Awakening (Guardian Unlimited)
Silverfall: Earth Awakening is a no-nonsense swords-and-sorcery roleplaying game (RPG) for the PC, the kind of game that will bother the top end of the German gaming charts but barely register in the UK. A shame, really, because Silverfall is a solid slice of goblin-bashing. There is a plot of sorts - the usual save-the-world gubbins - but Silverfall is all about killing stuff, finding loot ...
