Atlantic City rolls dice on building more casinos (The Record)
ATLANTIC CITY — Despite problems in the financial world and $7 billion worth of new casino development on hold, Atlantic City went ahead Tuesday with a plan to solicit bids from developers who could build as many as three casinos.

ATLANTIC CITY: Smoking ban under way at casinos (Daily Journal)
It's only due to last 12 days, but a temporary smoking ban took effect this morning in the city's 11 casinos. The City Council didn't move fast enough to pass an ordinance delaying the ban from taking effect for a year. The ban may now take effect on Oct. 27.

A.C. Casinos To Be Smoke-Free For At Least 12 Days (WCBS-TV New York)
An Atlantic City official says casinos will go smoke-free on the gambling floor for at least 12 days before the city's smoking ban is repealed. City council president William Marsh says the ban, which takes effect on Wednesday, will be extended through Oct. 27. He says that's the earliest the city council will be able to vote on it.
