Technicality kills child-porn charge (Victoria Times Colonist)
OTTAWA -- An Ottawa man was found not guilty yesterday of importing more than 22,000 images of child pornography after a judge ruled he never technically possessed the images in Canada. David McDermid, 31, attempted to have three computer hard drives containing the pornographic images deleted before they were shipped to Ottawa from Boise, Idaho.
